Energy Medicine Practice

Annette C. Goggio, M.P.H., E.E.M.C.P

Health comes from a state of balance—physical, energetic and, as I’ve come to realize with increasing urgency, at the level of the soul. We think of balance in the physical body as a state of normalcy, wherein we feel alert and comfortable (without pain), and are able to move and interact without limitation (according to our expectations within the context of age and inherent skill). We assume that all systems of the body are working together in the background to achieve homeostasis, or optimal performance of the chemical, neurologic and mechanical components of the body. To be balanced physically is to feel well. Those of us who are aware of the energetic aspects of the body, we think of balance as the coordinated and interactive flow of energy throughout and around the physical body in such as way as to provide essential information, life-giving nutrition and protection. To be energetically balanced, we need to identify and smooth out blockages, correct irregularities in energy flow, draw up new sources of energy from the earth and disperse excess energy through our portals. Day to day, we do this automatically. When we are subject to physical or emotional trauma, or develop a chronic illness, we require the help of someone who can manipulate this energy in our body toward normalcy. And if the energy moves back into regular, balanced flow, we feel well. We do not feel physically well without energetic balance, for the two are intimately related. Scientists have proven this point. Yet, there is more to this story: it is in following the soul’s urging to experience specific circumstances, emotions and relationships that enable us to understand the largest questions of our existence, and in doing so, the whole body hums, the whole body heals.

We hardly ever think of health in terms of the soul. The soul, as an entity, is rarely recognized outside of organized religion, and certainly not, in the medical community (though most of us feel as if we have one). Nevertheless, as we age, the soul may become the source of dis-ease for some, and as such, spins an energetic response of temporary, if not longstanding irregularity, which then spins irregularity in the physical body. All become in disarray. This condition of irregularity can manifest in general malaise, chronic fatigue, or signs of depression, long before autoimmune disease or cancer set in. Corrections on the physical level or even the energetic level may not be enough to overcome the spin from the soul.

Let’s say we ignore the soul’s urging to learn the concept of self-esteem, or live a life in service to others, or even feel empathy toward our oppressors. The soul is thereby deprived of its purpose, that of directing us toward a balance of experiences within successive lifetimes. We come into this life, this dimension, with purpose, which is realized through the urging of our soul. If it is ignored, we are ignoring the most basic of our instincts. It is not surprising then, that the ignoring has an effect on us, besides the fact that we never learn what is intended. Balance is always needed, and in the soul, balance is evident in the recognition of Self in those circumstances, emotions and relationships, imparting to us knowledge beyond this realm, of our life purpose and the pursuit of compassion for others.

Given this orientation to health, I have developed a practice of energy medicine that incorporates healing at all three levels. In a typical appointment (of two hour-plus duration), I will talk with you about your life circumstances and relationships, and offer some insights into the struggles you might be experiencing with regard to those circumstances and relationships, and the disease/discomforts you have related to them. I will talk to you in general about the energetic systems of the body, how they work, why they sometimes become disturbed and perform an assessment of those systems, making corrections as needed. As I make my assessments you will learn about your own energy habits and learn the corrections yourself to use at home in between appointments to stabilize those corrections. In later appointments, as the foundational energy systems have stabilized, deep healing treatments will be possible, that are a combination of energy and soul-level approaches. These approaches are based on my training from Donna Eden in Eden Energy Medicine as well as those learned from my mentor, Dixie Yeterian, a renowned healer and clairvoyant. As a condition of working with me as your helper in healing, I ask that you be as ready as possible for the changes that will take place, be as ready as possible to change habits, and heal. This will require work on your part, apart from me.

I have a particular interest in teens, having recently conducted a scientific study of stress and its energetic effects in teens, which will be published shortly in the International Society of Subtle Energies and Energy Medicine (ISSEEM) Journal as well as presenting my study at the International Gathering of Eden Energy Medicine Convention in September 2012.

Teen Stress Study

Primary Investigator

Thirty-two teens were studied regarding stress and its energetic effects. Chi-square analysis showed positive correlation between reported stress, physical and mental health and disorganization of the body's energies.
